‘Statues’ is Moloko’s forth studio album, a long player which takes a few listens to be truly appreciated. Started in the groups Sheffield studio it has a definite Sheffield Pop feel to it which is ironic as that’s where it all began for Moloko. Without taking a back step to old ground however, the group consisting of Roisin Murphy and Mark Brydon and Eddie Stevens have leapt forward into new territory and produced an album with untold depth, for what is essentially a UK pop release.
